Glocks Suck - There was a time… 2013, when Glock 30s were my hobby. After spending some quality time with one...I'm not too sore to do it again.
At 30 feet, this is a class group. But I just feel… "Meh" about it. Not that there is anything wrong with it. The gun shot very well. A 10 + 1 Full bore capacity .45 Auto is nothing to sneeze at. This is more ammo on the plane than a full size 1911, in a much smaller and lighter package. The trigger was similar to a 5.5 pound Glock trigger... You hear one, you hear them all. And I know that can be changed at will thanks to our friends at Lone Wolf Distributors. And images too. Views on factory Glocks… Why the hell are they stupid? Truly. They suck. Balls. They suck balls.
Glocks Suck
The grip needs some work to be slick in my hand. To me, Glocks are really guns. Enjoy time with them, make them feel and burn the way I want them too. And when the job was done, I felt they were done. I like them enough to want to play with them... But I don't have the heart. Like Vegas hookers or something.
Glock 43 Compared To Other Pistols
I know all the arguments for Glocks...I sing them myself when I drink Glock-Koolaide. But… I just… I'm done with Glocks. It's not just me. I don't feel that connection with them. I don't feel this connection with the Microwave oven either. But I do it with an old fashioned Weber Grill. One is the tools I use to work. Someone does the job, but it takes time and care... and I spend more time with it and love it more every time I use it. Not a microwave. Not a Glock.
What happens when you take a bunch of crazy Frenchmen, a Gen 5 Glock 17, and 2,000 rounds of ammo? You get the best torture test of the Glock.

Of course at this point, every gun enthusiast in the world has seen someone pick up a different generation Glock and burn a bunch of ammo through it. And while considering the price of ammo for 2022, it might be a little painful to watch the video, it's still worth a look. Why? Because it shows two things: the durability of the Glock design, and that we live in the golden age of the automatic striker fired pistol.
The Dumbest Glock Build Ever
I'm sure someone will read this post and say "oh well I have a Glock and it's a POS, it's full of crap and Glocks suck," because there are always haters. But the truth is, even if the man is telling the whole truth, his Glock is the exception rather than the rule. This video is the first we're aware of testing the Gen 5 in a potentially harmful environment. However, a search for "Glock Torture Test" on YouTube will reveal all kinds of shenanigans on all kinds of Glocks. The video has an interesting aspect as it is a test of the Glock 17 Gen5 FR Coyote, aka the French Army Glock. As noted by French, these pistols have a coyote tan frame and a standard Glock slide.
The video also helps to show that there is no better time than now to own an assault rifle. In the 30+ years since Glock pistols hit the American market, the technology has grown tremendously. Every major manufacturer offers a high quality, reliable service rifle. In a recent Facebook thread in the firearms community, a poster asked how he would get his agency to allow all officers to purchase firearms. Another member asked why, because even if it's not perfect, the Gen 5 Glock does everything a service pistol needs to do. They all do, and it looks like all of them will survive the 2,000 round test shown in the video.
If you don't want to sit through a 13 minute video in French, we'll spoil the ending. The Glock survived, no wonder. The shock was too hot to touch the hands suddenly, it hurt, but nothing was broken. The only "downside", if you can even call it that, is that the dust cover is so hot that it starts to fall off the slide a bit. This did not hinder the operation of the gun at all, and apparently the active French continued to fire.
Tests like this are valuable. Guns do strange things when they get too hot or too cold. Is firing 2,000 rounds in 20 minutes an accurate reproduction of normal use conditions? There is no doubt. But what is proven in extreme situations is knowing that if a gun survives the worst we can throw at it, there is no doubt that it will continue to persevere in everyday concealment or forced work.

A tactical sling is a simple thing, but choosing the right one can be important to carry and manage...
If you're reading this post, you're probably familiar with "quick reload," sometimes called "battle reload" or "quick...
Remington Ammunition recently discovered a problem with its Premier Accutip 12-Gauge ammo and has issued a recall. This...reformers in America will mistake the Glock for any gun. Hollywood loves guns. LEO respects him. Glocks also have a specific, perhaps smaller, range of military contracts. There's a good reason why Glocks are so popular: Glocks work.
It all started, way back in 1979, with what we now know as the Glock 17. Say what you will — and much has been said about the plastic frame. The Glock 17 was the forerunner of the much-maligned "Tupperware" pistols and one of the first 9mm Glock pistols to be used. When Gaston Glock began working on his vision, steel 1911 revolvers were regularly offered. Many people see Glock as a bad idea. Calling a gun "plastic" is not a compliment.
What The Aa19 Does Better Than The Glock 19
As the US military decided to abandon the 1911, Glock is proving itself in Europe. The company was invited to submit the guns for the joint production of the XM9 equipment from Master PISOL but refused. Glock had to make modifications to the G17 for launch and the equipment to produce test guns was more than the new company wanted to deal with. They have passed and it is another chapter in the history of Beretta.
Beretta took a deep breath, I'm sure. In retrospect, it seems like one of the worst business decisions. Still, Glock has won departmental and military contracts around the world and released all types.
Glock has developed some of America's best known firearms companies and all of them, try as they might, are still trying to catch up with Glock.
Let's start with the obvious differences from other guns of the time (and most guns available today). And it's worth noting here that many of these details are true of many Glock pistols - not just the G17.

The G17 is a very large handgun. However, it is lighter because the frame is made of polymer. Plastic. Although many people predicted that plastic would melt, crack or degrade, it did not. The plastic that set the Glock apart, in the beginning, is now the industry standard. Glock calls this Polymer 2. Looks like they succeeded on the second try.
Over the years, as Glock has changed the grip design on different generation pistols, this has improved. The grip is firm enough to hold but still better than a 1911. And there is enough weight on the slide to help reduce recoil.
In the grip, the double stack magazine offers good performance. 17 round mags are correct. The magazines themselves are covered in metal and plastic, and are indestructible. Okay, they rarely die. I even took a magazine that had been sitting outdoors for an unknown amount of time, cleaned it, and it still runs like a pro.
Since there are so many Glock 17s in the wild, builder business is plentiful. Most of these are plastic lines, not metal, but they still work.
Glock 19 Review
Glock makes 17, 19, 24, 31, and 33 round mags. Want more than 33? Try one of these 40 round mags.
You can also find Rugers and Kel-Tec pistols that run on Glock 17 mags. You know you're doing something right when your competition stops fighting and starts making guns that use your magazines.
Imported products offer greater variety and, in some cases, exceptional value. My personal experience is the true reliability of the Glock plastic mag
